Talking Points

  • Hudson Young has been selected for the NSW Blues for the State of Origin opener next Wednesday and will miss Saturday’s clash against the Dolphins.
  • Simi Sasagi will replace Young this weekend, returning to first grade on the bench.
  • Josh Papalli returns this weekend from his one game suspension and has been named to start at prop.
  • Trai Fuller returns to first grade, replacing Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow who will line up for Queensland in the Origin opener.
  • Raiders Fullback Jordan Rapana has scored four tries in his past three games on Queesland soil.

I'm willing to put my hand up anywhere for the team. I love playing for the Raiders and I always have. So, whether that's off the bench or starting or on the wing.

Josh Papalii on returning from suspension #300

Last time they met

The Canberra Raiders secured a nail biting 31-30 victory in round nine last season at McDonalds Park, Wagga Wagga.

Key Match Up

Josh Papalii v Jesse Bromwich

The battle of the props will be the centre of attention at this weekend game in Redcliffe.

Josh Papalli will look to redeem himself as he returns to the starting side this weekend after a suspension with a week off.

The star prop has 292 NRL appearances to his name and aims to reach the 300th milestone by the end of the year.

Papalii averages 101 running metres a game with an extensive tackle efficiency of 97.2% accuracy.

Meanwhile, Dolphins forward Jesse Bromwich will look to lead his respective forward pack on Saturday, facing off with his fellow veteran front rower in Papalii.

Bromwich has shown his hard-working efforts this season, totalling 253 tackles while averaging 81 running metres per game.

The contest between the two props will be an intense matchup and could be vitally important in the result of the game.

Head to Head

This Saturday will be the third match-up between the Raiders and Dolphins. Both sides won a game each in 2023.
