Katrina Fanning Shield: Round 12 Wrap

The Blumers Lawyers Katrina Fanning Shield ladder has become even tighter after significant results in Round 12.

West Belconnen Warriors 20 defeat Tuggeranong Bushrangers 4

The West Belconnen Warriors are back on top of the table after a strong 16-point win over the Tuggeranong Bushrangers.

Warriors interchange forward Crystal Papalii made big impact coming off the bench, scoring two tries for her side.

Tuggeranong's 2024 struggles continue as they sit second last with just one win, but they'll like their chances this weekend against the Bulldogs, who are only one position above them.

Meanwhile, the Warriors face the Gungahlin Bulls in a top four clash.

Queanbeyan Blues 26 defeat Belconnen United Sharks 10

The Queanbeyan Blues remain consistent with a commanding win over the Belconnen United Sharks at Seiffert Oval.

Blues halfback Briony Frater was a standout once again as she crossed the line for a hat-trick.

Sharks fullback Mya McGlynn was her teams best, scoring a great individual try and getting the extras with a conversion.

Following a tough weekend, the Sharks rest up with the bye, while the Blues host the Yass Magpies.

Woden Valley Rams 16 defeat Goulburn City Bulldogs 14

The Woden Valley Rams secured a tight win over the Goulburn City Bulldogs in an exciting contest.

With both sides scoring three tries each, the win came down to successful conversions in which Rams fullback Lara Cosgrove made the difference by successfully kicking two of three conversions while also scoring a try.

The try sees Cosgrove in third place on the try-scoring leaderboard in the KFS this year.

The Bulldogs can draw confidence from this performance, having come close to defeating one of the top teams in the competition.

Goulburn will carry this momentum into their matchup with Tuggeranong, while Woden prepares to face the Bungendore Kangaroos.

Yass Magpies 38 defeat Gungahlin Bulls 6

The Yass Magpies showcased dominance over the weekend, beating the Gungahlin Bulls by 32-points.

Yass hooker Gabrielle Davis and lock forward Samara Afele were unstoppable down the middle, as they both scored doubles.

After a slow start to the season, the Magpies have successfully caught up to the top four, now tied on points with the fourth-placed Bulls.

Gungahlin's form slump continues as they suffer their fourth consecutive loss, after being previously undefeated.

Both sides face tough tests this weekend, with Gungahlin hosting the Warriors and Yass taking on the Blues.
