The Raiders NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg sides travelled to BlueBet Stadium for encounters against the Penrith Panthers on Saturday, with both sides walking away with different results.

NSW Cup

The Canberra Raiders NSW Cup secured a tight 26-24 victory over the Penrith Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

In a highly contested affair, both sides scored four tries respectively; a Mitch Henderson penalty goal in the 39th minute proved the difference.

Raiders captain Hohepa Puru’s impressive form continued, leading the game in tackles with 38 and crossing for a four pointer, whilst James Schiller scored after missing last week’s game against the Knights.

The win for the green machine sets up a mouthwatering one versus two contest against the North Sydney Bears next weekend at Raiders Belconnen.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Canberra Raiders Jersey Flegg side suffered a 26-12 loss against the Penrith Panthers in a tough afternoon at BlueBet Stadium.

A fast start from the Panthers proved the difference, with three tries in the opening ten minutes setting up a strong advantage.

Tries from centre Regan Carr and interchange player Jayden Ford before halftime reduced the margin to four at the main break, however the strength of the Panthers outfit shone through in the second crossing for two more tries and keeping the Green Machine scoreless.

Despite the loss, the Raiders still remain one win clear at the top of the table and will be looking to bounce back next weekend at home against the Melbourne Storm.
