Katrina Fanning Shield: Round 14 Wrap

The minor premiership race is underway, as the Blumers Lawyers Katrina Fanning Shield sees a three-way tie for first after round 14.

Queanbeyan Blues 16 defeat Woden Valley Rams 6

The Queanbeyan Blues have bounced back from last week's defeat with a win over the table topping Rams on Saturday.

Blues halfback Briony Frater led the charge, crossing for a try and kicking two goals, while teammates Shantelle Hellyer and Miranda Smith also found their way to the line.

Unable to showcase their usual attacking flair, Woden only found a way to score on one occasion through Ana-Ruta Vaana.

The win for Queanbeyan brings them to level points with the Rams who maintain their position on top with a strong points differential.

With the race for the minor premiership underway, both sides will be hungry for victory this weekend, as Woden face the Sharks, and the Blues take on Goulburn.

Gungahlin Bulls 22 defeat Tuggeranong Bushrangers 8

The Gungahlin Bulls have solidified their top four spot after defeating the Tuggeranong Bushrangers.

Tries to Abbie Bailey, Tikirah-Ann Douglas, Seluvaiva Kiriui, and Milika Tuinakauvadra ensured the strong 14 point win for Gungahlin.

Caitlin Fazey-Robinson and Veronica Charlton found their way over the line for Tuggeraong, but it wasn't enough to inspire an upset victory against an overpowering Bulls outfit.

Gungahlin will look to maintain distance with fifth placed Yass when they play the Kangaroos this weekend, while Tuggeranong rest up with the bye.

Goulburn City Bulldogs 16 draw Belconnen United Sharks 16

The Goulburn City Bulldogs and Belconnen United Sharks share the two points following Saturday's stalemate.

Nothing could separate the two sides in the sixth verse seventh battle, both scoring three tries and converting two.

Sharks fullback Mya McGlynn kept her side in the contest as she crossed for a double and kicked their two goals.

With their finals chances all but diminished, both sides will aim for a strong finish to the season, as Belconnen host the Rams this weekend, while Goulburn challenge the Blues.
