Katrina Fanning Shield: Round 15 Wrap

Round 15 of the Blumers Lawyers Katrina Fanning Shield was highlighted by a big upset, with Goulburn securing a strong victory over the Blues.

Goulburn City Bulldogs 20 defeat Queanbeyan Blues 10

The Goulburn City Bulldogs caused a massive upset victory over the Queanbeyan Blues in front of their home fans at Workers Arena.

Bulldogs centre Katelyn Staples was dangerous in attack, crossing for a double, while Paige Cotterill and Catelyn Galbraith also added four pointers.

The loss impedes Queanbeyan's minor premiership aspirations, as they face a tough fortnight against top four sides, coming up against the Bulls, followed by the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Goulburn enjoy a week off with the bye after a good win.

Woden Valley Rams 10 defeat Belconnen United Sharks 0

The Woden Valley Rams remain at the top of the competition standings after defeating the Belconnen United Sharks in a low-scoring contest.

Rams fullback Lara Cosgrove was a standout once again, scoring an all important try and kicking a goal.

Despite the loss, Belconnen can hold their heads high, showing significant improvement from their last encounter with the Rams in round six, where they were defeated 42-0.

The Sharks will look to add to their win tally against the Kangaroos this weekend, while the Rams take on West Belconnen in a huge top four clash.

Gungahlin Bulls 32 defeat Bungendore Kangaroos 0

The Gungahlin Bulls retain their top four spot following a strong win over the Kangaroos.

Despite the wet conditions, the Bulls had plenty of points in them, with prop Amelia Kiriui leading the way with two tries, while five of her teammates each crossed the line for a try each.

Gungahlin will have their work cut out for them this weekend when they face a Blues side eager to bounce back.

Meanwhile, the Kangaroos will challenge Belconnen United at NSWRL HQ.
