As a player, Meninga had one of the most decorated careers in Raiders history, playing in five Grand Finals and Captaining the team to three Premierships in his 166 club matches. He was Head Coach from 1997-2001.

At representative level, Meninga also stands amongst the greats of the game, captaining both Queensland in State of Origin and the Kangaroos in international rugby league.

He coached the Queensland State of Origin team during their remarkable run of eight straight series wins and is the current Coach of the World Cup-winning Kangaroos.

Raiders Chairman Dennis Richardson said he was delighted to welcome Mal back into an active role with the club.

“Mal Meninga’s standing in the game of rugby league is unquestionable,” Mr Richardson said.

“Mal will work to Coach Ricky Stuart and to CEO Don Furner, and with staff and players to continue to elevate and enhance our club in the game in Canberra, Australia and Internationally.”
