The Canberra Raiders have recorded a huge 56-16 victory over South Sydney in a great team performance in the NSW Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The Raiders first half performance set-up their huge win, carrying a strong 34-6 lead going into the break.

Simi Sasagi, Jed Stuart and Albert Hopoate were all able to cross the stripe twice, finishing the game with doubles.

The Rabbitohs responded straight after halftime with a pair of tries but the damage had been done, as the Raiders finished strongly to come away with the important victory.

Sunday's win places the Raiders outright second on the ladder with five matches left to go in the season.

Canberra will take on the Bulldogs in Belmore this Sunday afternoon in what could be an early finals preview.
