Raiders re-sign NRLW quartet until end of 2026 season

The Canberra Raiders are pleased to announce the re-signing of four of the team’s NRLW players for the next two seasons.

Mackenzie Wiki, Monalisa Soliola, Chanté Temara and Sereana Naitokatoka have all re-signed until the end of the 2026 NRLW season.

Raiders NRLW coach Darrin Borthwick said he is excited to have the quartet re-sign as he continues to lock in members of the team long-term.

“It’s very good for the stability of our team but also it shows that players want to be here. For those players to extend it gives us a good picture into the next few years at the club and I’m really happy that the players have chosen to remain here,” Borthwick said.

“You’ve still got to keep building and I feel with the players we’ve secured, and there’ll be more to come, we’ll have good stability here. Then it’s exciting to obviously have our pathways systems and young girls coming through as well. It’s pretty exciting times for us in the women’s space and obviously a good show of faith with a lot of these players wanting to stay here and it just goes to show what we are building.”

“For Mackenzie it was about her expanding on her game and finding out who she is as a player and I think she’s done that. I’m really excited that she has extended here. I know I don’t have any issues with her bleeding green, it’s in the family and I’m really happy for Mackenzie.

“For Mona to commit here, I think she’s only going to get better. I know she’s still only young but seems like she’s been around for a long time. I’m really excited that she’s chosen to stay with us.

“Chanté has been phenomenal for us, she’s very popular within the group. That was an easy one to keep Chanté here because she’s such a good team player and her actions speak louder than words sometimes. For her to remain here with her sister is terrific.

“I’ve coached Sere for a long time and to get her here and see the way she’s fit in with the group, the girls love her and they love what she brings on the field. She’s a good one off the field as well, just to see how everyone has integrated with her. I wanted to make sure that we jumped onto that pretty quickly to give Sere a bit of stability.

Wiki said she is excited to remain in Canberra for a further two years and join the growing list of players committing to the club long-term.

“I think Canberra is a second home for me, a home away from home, I’ve created a big family here now,” Wiki said.

“It’s definitely exciting because we’re obviously getting more comfortable with each other so we know exactly how each other plays and I think we are going to be that dream team that everyone is going to watch.”

Soliola said she is grateful for the opportunity to extend her time at the club and looks forward to another two seasons in Canberra.

“I feel like deep down I’ve made the right decision to stay. Like Bortho repeats we have unfinished business here, with the team we do have unfinished business but I feel like personally I’ve got a lot of unfinished business here too,” Soliola said.

“As much as on the field things will come together, even after only being together for one year we have really gelled off field. We’ve created a culture where we all feel like we belong and feel like we can trust one another so I think that is probably my standout of re-signing and wanting to be here is that off field mentality.”

Temara said she is grateful for the chance to re-sign and is excited to continue her journey at the club.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my development as a player and as a person at the Canberra Raiders. To feel like my hard work, commitment and sacrifice has paid off shows that the belief that Daz, the club and players has in me is humbling," Temara said.

"They have challenged me to continue to drive to be better on and off the field.”

Naitokatoka said she is excited to remain at the club for a further two seasons, the first time she has signed a multi-year deal.

“I’m so excited. The first day I came in here for our headshots and put on that jersey I knew that it felt right. It was easy for me to extend and I feel like this is my next home for the next two years,” Naitokatoka said.

“This will be my first time getting an extended contract. It was mindblowing, when Borth told me he wanted to extend me I was very excited.”
