Talking Points

  • Raiders wingers Madison Bartlett and Shakiah Tungai were strong in the defeat to the Sharks, helping the Raiders to a eight point lead at half-time.
  • The Green Machine will be desperate to claim a victory this weekend, after a tough start to the season including losses to the Knights and Sharks in the last two rounds.
  • The Raiders defensive line will have to be wary of Broncos centre Mele Hufanga, who scored four tries last weekend.
  • The Raiders side remains unchanged from their clash against the Sharks, while the Broncos have also named the same line-up from their victory against the Titans.

They are one from three and so are we so the main focus is just ourselves and we know what we need to work on.

Last time they met

In round six of last season, the Brisbane Broncos defeated the Canberra Raiders 40-8 at Totally Workwear Stadium.

Key Match Up:

Cheyelle Robins-Reti v Mele Hufanga

As the Raiders prepare to take on the Broncos at Totally Workwear Stadium, all eyes will be on the exciting battle between the two centres Cheyelle Robins-Reti and Mele Hufanga.

After making her NRLW debut last year in round one against the Sharks, Robins-Reti has had an impressive career so far, scoring four tries in 12 appearances and being named the Raiders NRLW Rookie of the Year in her first season of rugby league.

In the 2024 season so far, the Raiders centre has made 36 tackles with a 90 percent efficiency and has an average of 110 running metres.

Mele Hufanga has also had an impressive career to date after making her NRLW debut in round one last year, scoring 14 tries in 13 career appearances.

In the 2024 season so far, the Broncos centre has made 35 tackles with an 89.7 percent efficiency and has run an average of 160 metres.

This clash between the two New Zealand representative players will be one to watch as they will be influential in the outcome of the match.

Head-to-Head

This will be the second time these two clubs have met, with the Broncos claiming the only victory.
