The Canberra Raiders NSW Cup Side fell short 26-24 in a gallant effort against the Penrith Panthers on Saturday night.
Jed Stuart and Trey Mooney were able to cross the line, aiding their side to a 12-8 halftime lead.
Canberra came out firing in the second half, but it was the Panthers that strung away in the final minutes through a late try to secure the two point victory over Canberra.
The Raiders are currently sitting outright first on the ladder with one game left of the season as they are in the box seat to claim the minor premiership for 2024.
Canberra will look to prepare for a clash against the Sydney Roosters this Sunday at Wentworth Park, Sydney.

Raiders’ backs Ethan Alaia and Lekani Mpaso's efforts were on display, both securing a double in the contest.
After a tight first half, the Panthers crossed through a late try to Nick Murphy to claim the 26-20 victory.
