Team of the Year 2024: Fullback

Congratulations to Daine Spencer of the Woden Valley Rams for being selected at fullback in the 2024 Canberra Raiders Cup Team of the Year.

The Rub of the Green podcast once again selected the Team of the Year.

Spencer played a key role in Woden’s return to finals footy after missing out in 2023.

Following a stint in the QLD Cup, Spencer returned to Canberra late last season and made a significant impact in 2024 with a full season under his belt, scoring 14 tries in 18 games.

The dynamic fullback was a constant attacking threat, consistently delivering standout tries and assists, with the ability to create something from nothing.

In addition to his offensive prowess, his cover tackling in defence helped the Rams achieve the best defensive record in the competition for 2024. 

Spencer earned Team of the Week honours nearly every round, solidifying his spot as the clear choice for fullback in the Team of the Year.

The Rams improved from sixth place last season to third in 2024, tied first on points. 

Despite falling short in the preliminary final, the Rams showed significant improvement from last year, and with talent like Spencer at fullback, it's exciting to think about what they could achieve next season.
