CRRL Welcomes Liam Herbert as First-Ever Coach Developer

The Canberra Region Rugby League (CRRL) is excited to introduce Liam Herbert as the inaugural Coach Developer in this newly established role.

The Coach Developer role aims to drive meaningful change at the community level of Rugby League by focusing on upskilling volunteer coaches, enhancing culture, and fostering growth in male, female, and all-abilities pathways.

This role provides accessible resources for volunteers to deepen their understanding of the game, supporting everyone from first-time Under 6’s coaches to those advancing into senior-level coaching.

Based on past seasons, the CRRL believes this role will support coaches' growth and development, open opportunities for individuals, and enhance player development while fostering sustainable, enjoyable club environments across the region.

Herbert brings extensive coaching experience to the role and is eager to support the hard-working volunteers across the region.

"My primary goal in this role is to be a reliable resource for all clubs to utilise, ensuring the hard-working volunteers in the Canberra region have the support they need to strengthen their clubs and develop their coaches," Herbert said.

By prioritising the needs of local clubs and volunteers, the Coach Developer aims to build an environment where everyone feels valued and motivated to contribute year after year.

"Moving forward, I’m eager to build strong relationships with dedicated volunteers and gain insight into their needs and perspectives," Herbert added

"My focus is on empowering them to grow grassroots Rugby League at their clubs with ease and confidence.

"I look forward to meeting everyone across the league and working together to make a positive difference."
