Coming off an impressive 2024 campaign, outside back Savelio Tamale is ready to shine his light on the Rugby League world in 2025.
Since making his debut in The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup for the St George Dragons in 2023, Tamale has been a mainstay in the starting line-up, featuring in all 24 games in 2024 at either centre, wing or fullback.
Tamale finished the season with 12 tries, four try-assists and led the competition in run metres (4,487), post-contact metres (1,516), tackle breaks (199) and line-breaks (23).
This energetic workhorse clocked over 200 running metres on 12 separate occasions throughout the season – running over 250 metres four times.
One of the standout performances for the outside back in the 2024 season was the Round 22 clash, where the Dragons toppled the ladder leaders North Sydney Bears in a 32-20 win in front of their home fans at North Sydney Oval.
The winger scored two tries, had three line-breaks, 15 tackle breaks and ran for 257 metres – 61 post-contact.
Tamale made his representative debut in 2023, after being selected on the wing for the NSW Under 19s State of Origin team where he scored a try in the impressive 32-14 win over Queensland.
Signing with the Canberra Raiders until the 2026 season, Tamale is a step closer to potentially making his NRL debut.
With the likes of backs James Schiller and Jordan Rapana departing the Raiders, Tamale will be in the race to cement a spot in the Raiders back-five.
