The Canberra Region Rugby League (CRRL) proudly congratulates several of its supporters who have been recognised in the Australia Day honours and at the community level.

Tony Rayner: CRRL Committee Member and President of Bungendore Tigers RLFC, awarded Citizen of the Year by the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council for his outstanding volunteer contributions to the community.

Martin Meredith OAM: Chairman of Wheelchair Rugby League Australia, awarded an OAM for his efforts in developing wheelchair rugby league and his strong support of CRRL’s wheelchair programs.

Dr. David Headon AM: Awarded an AM for his services to historical research and writing, particularly for his book Absolutely Bleeding Green, which chronicles the history of the Canberra Raiders. His research was instrumental in CRRL's centenary celebrations, and he was an exceptional guest at the centenary luncheon.

Maryanne Fitzgerald – Harden Citizen of the Year: Maryanne Fitzgerald, the hardworking Secretary of the Harden Murrumburrah RLFC, has been recognised as Harden Citizen of the Year. For many years, she has dedicated herself to the club, handling everything from administration and ground announcing to working in the canteen. A true legend of rugby league in Harden. 

Rebecca Kelley PSM: Recognised for her work in the Public Service, primarily as the Director of ACT Sport & Recreation. Her leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic and collaboration with CRRL in developing facilities were invaluable to the region's sports community.

CRRL extends its heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to all recipients for their significant contributions to rugby league and the broader community.
