The 2025 junior representative competitions kick off this weekend and for the first time the Canberra Raiders will have four teams running out in green.

The Raiders have joined the Lisa Fiaola Cup competition for the first time, an important stepping stone for the club's junior female players. 

The Raiders Tarsha Gale Cup, SG Ball Cup and Harold Matthews Cup sides are also in action, with all four teams at Raiders Belconnen this Saturday in what will be a massive day of footy. 

Lisa Fiaola Cup

This Saturday will be a special one for the Canberra Raiders inaugural Lisa Fiaola Cup team, when they play the Parramatta Eels in their opening match. 

Coached by Brian Summerell, the new Lisa Fiaola side will feature exciting under 17s female players who now have the opportunity to play for a Canberra Raiders side. 

The team will be lead by captains Adelaide Norris and Frankie Cappello. 

This week's opponents the Eels will be a tough side. The Eels finished last season in third place before getting knocked out by the Knights in the first week of finals. 

Kick off is at 11:00am on Saturday February 1 at Raiders Belconnen.

Tarsha Gale Cup

The Canberra Raiders Tarsha Gale Cup side kick off their season against the Eels this Saturday. 

This year's side is coached by Nicole Fleming and includes a number of exciting players both locally and out of town.

Many of the players have come from the club's development programs, showcasing the pathways in place for female rugby league players. 

Last year's NRLW squad members Jaida Faleono and Claudia Finau will feature in the side, while Sabrina Marela has been named as captain. 

The Raiders just missed out on a finals spot last year so will be looking to build on their performance this season. 

Meanwhile the Eels finished in eighth place last year and will be hoping to kick start their season with a victory this weekend. 

The Eels won the only meeting between the two sides last season, 30-12. 

Kick off for the round one Tarsha Gale match is at 12:30pm.

Harold Matthews Cup

The Canberra Raiders Harold Matthews team host the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in a blockbuster round one clash at Raiders Belconnen. 

Despite a tough 2024 season, the Raiders Matts side look ready to bounce back this year, lead by coach Peter Marrapodi.

There are a number of talented young players in the squad this year, including the likes of fullback Kye Anderson and centre Viliami Siale. 

Th Raiders face a tough task in their opening round clash, taking on last year's minor premiers in the Bulldogs. 

The Bulldogs reached the semi finals of the Harold Matts competition last year, and were defeated by the Warriors, who went on to win the competition. 

A handful of players remain from last year's semi final side, and they will be a dangerous outfit. 

This match kicks off at 2pm on Saturday February 1 at Raiders Belconnen.

SG Ball Cup

The SG Ball clash between the Canberra Raiders and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs rounds out the quadruple header at Raiders Belconnen on Saturday.

After making the semi finals in 2023, the Raiders SG Ball side finished in 11th place in 2024 and will be wanting to build from that this year. 

Rourke O'Sullivan takes the reins as coach, having moved across from the Raiders Harold Matts side. 

The Raiders team features players that were in the Harold Matts side last season as well as players from the Monaro Colts side that won the Laurie Daley Cup in 2024. 

Five-eighth Braydan Darmody has been named as captain, while 2024 Jarrod Croker scholarship recipient Mitchell Brophy will start at hooker this weekend. 

The Raiders open their campaign against the Bulldogs, who were last year's grand finalists. 

The Bulldogs had a strong year last year and made it all the way to the grand final, where they were defeated by the Dragons 40-18. 

Kick off for the Raiders v Bulldogs clash is at 3:30pm.
