This weekend marks the third round of the Knock-on Effect NSW Cup and the Jersey Flegg Cup which will see both Raiders teams heading up the coast to 4 Pines Park in Brookvale to take on the Sea Eagles on Sunday.

The Knock-on Effect NSW Cup

Our NSW Cup boys are coming off a bye-round and will be feeling refreshed and ready to bounce back from their narrow defeat to the Warriors in round one.

Raiders forward Trey Mooney will be the major out in NSW Cup this week, securing a spot on the bench in NRL, providing an opportunity for the forward pack to step up in his absence.

Coach Chris Lewis will look to fill in the gaps with Jordan Martin starting at prop with his brother Noah Martin named in the second row.

Peter Taateo will also move into the front row from the lock position, and Myles Martin – no relation – will don the number thirteen jersey after making his Raiders Cup team debut in round one.

In the back three, Chevy Stewart will start in the fullback position with some help from Jensen Taumoepeau and Michael Asomua on the wings.

Definitely important to keep your eyes on Asomua this week, as the 21-year-old winger picked himself up a pair of tries in the round one clash against the Warriors and is no doubt hungry for some more.

They face a Sea Eagles side off to a rocky start, narrowly losing their first round to the Rabbitohs and failing to rally against the Warriors in round two.

Kick off for this clash is at 3:50pm on Sunday at 4 Pines Park.

Jersey Flegg Cup

Meanwhile, our Jersey Flegg boys have started the season strong 2-0, thrashing the Warriors in round one and claiming a dominant victory over the Kaiviti Silktails in round two.

Coach Jordan Macey has named an unchanged squad for round three.

Eyes are on skipper, kicker and halfback Keahn Skipps who had played a significant role last week against the Silktails, with some instrumental playmaking and some handy kicking, slotting six from seven conversions.

Jalen Afamasaga will shoulder him at five-eighth with Siamani Leuluai and Tariq Tanner making up the wings.

Leuluai has proven an attacking threat on the wing, nabbing a late try last Saturday after an impressive linebreak.

They face a Sea Eagles side who are off to a good start, matching the Raiders at 2-0 in round 3, after impressive performances against the Rabbitohs and the Warriors respectively.

Kick-off for this match is at 2:05pm this Sunday at 4 Pines Park.
