The Monaro Colts Men's Country Championships campaign has ended with a 56-12 semi-final loss to the Northern Rivers Titans.
In a rematch of last year’s semi-final, Northern Rivers avenged their defeat with a dominant 44-point victory to book their place in the grand final.
The Titans will face the reigning premiers, the Newcastle Rebels, who secured a 20-0 win over the Western Rams.
Northern Rivers ran in 10 tries to Monaro’s two, with Adam Walker and Zacharia Roberts both bagging doubles, while five other teammates also crossed the line in the commanding win.
Monaro’s tries came through Zac Patch and Tommy Watego, with Lucas Thompson adding the extras without fault.
While unable to match last year’s grand final appearance, reaching the semi-finals in back-to-back years highlights the strength of rugby league in the region.
The Men's Country Championships grand final will be held at GIO Stadium in Canberra, where Newcastle will look to defend their title against a red-hot Northern Rivers outfit.
