Round three kicked off last weekend for the Canberra Raiders NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg sides, who took on the Manly Sea Eagles at 4 Pines Park.

Jersey Flegg Cup

The Raiders Jersey Flegg Cup side has continued their impressive form with a huge 44-18 win over the Sea Eagles on Sunday afternoon.

Patrick Broe scored a first-half double in just his first game in the Jersey Flegg Cup, leading the way to a cruisy win for the Raiders.

The Raiders went into the first half with a handy 32-6 lead but let the Sea Eagles back into the game, scoring two tries to cut it to a 32-18 deficit.

But the Raiders clicked into gear through winger Tariq Tanner, who scored his first career double which closed out the game for the Raiders and sent them 3-0 to start the season.

Canberra will take on the Sydney Roosters at Raiders Belconnen on Saturday afternoon with a chance to take the top spot on the table.

NSW Cup

The Raiders NSW Cup side went down 28-26 in a thrilling round three matchup against the Manly Sea Eagles.

Canberra came firing out in the first half scoring three tries in just 12 minutes.

But the momentum fell to Manly just before halftime, scoring two tries at the end of the half to cut it to a 16-10 lead to the Raiders.

It was a slow start to the second half before Navren Willett scored two back-to-back tries to give Manly a tight 4-point lead.

Some brilliance from Chevy Stewart put the Raiders up by two before Micheal Asomua scored his second try to give the Raiders a narrow six-point lead.

Unfortunately, a terrific pass to Raymond Tuaimalo Vega put the Raiders and Sea Eagles levelled before a penalty went the way of the Sea Eagles to put them up by two points to finish the game.

The Raiders will look to bounce back when they take on the Sydney Roosters at Raiders Belconnen on Saturday afternoon.
